LPHS SGA is hosting a fundraiser this week for Miracle League Baseball. We strongly support this organization year round with many of our activities. We even have Dragons on our campus who are Miracle League athletes and we believe its important to support these students. Miracle League needs to resurface the baseball field which will allow special equipment to safely be on the rubberized field. The cost of this task has been quoted at $197,000.00. Therefore, SGA is asking for our Dragon family to help us raise some funds. Our goal is to raise $1,000.00 this week

The LPHS Sound of the Dragon Marching Band joined the Avon Park Marching Grenadiers and The Spirit of Sebring Marching Band for the Christmas parades last week in Avon Park and Sebring. Musicians and color guard members from all three schools joined together to perform a medley of Christmas carols. Be sure to come and see all three Highlands County high school marching bands perform together one last time this year at Lake Placid's Christmas parade this Saturday, December 14 at 7 pm. There will also will be many other participants in the parade from LPHS so don't miss out!

LAKE PLACID HIGH SCHOOL BAND DECEMBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH DRAGONS ALEXANDER BRITO Alex is a senior at LPHS. He is a percussionist and performs in marching band, concert band, percussion ensemble and pep band. Alex serves as the Band Captain of the 2024-25 Sound of the Dragon Marching Band. He attended the FBA Solo & Ensemble festival last year and earned a Superior rating for his snare drum solo performance. Alex is also a member of chorus and performed in Heartland Honor Choir this fall. The LPHS Band Student Of The Month Award recognizes a member of the Band program who consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence, dedication to the program, respect for others and a strong work ethic in addition to integrity, kindness, positivity and leadership.
